Bluemind Foundation

MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH.

150 MILLION

people live with a mental health condition in Africa. Yet for millions of them, care remains out of reach.

the problem is access to care.

In many countries, fewer than 1 in 10 people can access any form of mental health support.

Women carry a disproportionate burden through violence, economic precarity, grief and stigma.

The consequences ripple outward: lost income, children leaving school, families under strain.

WE BRING MENTAL HEALTH WHERE PEOPLE ALREADY ARE.

Heal by Hair builds on the social capital of hair salons. Rather than waiting for women to cross the sometimes distant doors of health systems, we train the women they already trust: their hairdressers.

HEAL BY HAIR

Trained to detect, listen and guide, hairdressers become mental health ambassadors and local bridges to care, at the heart of a territorial network already anchored in women's daily lives.

Through Heal by Hair, its pioneering mental health programme, Bluemind Foundation trains hairdressers to:
Listen without judgement
Detect early distress
Provide first-line psychosocial support
Guide women toward appropriate care

REAL RESULTS.
Already at scale.

In just a few years, Bluemind Foundation has helped turn everyday spaces into places of care with measurable impact across communities.
